EasyVMX! Blog: Tech news from your favourite virtual machine creator!
And then there were two!
As a Mac user, I'm certainly appreciating Parallels fantastic effort of bringing virtualization to the Mac platform.
But (as you'd might guess) I also really like VMware, and they have now entered the scene with the release of VMware Fusion public beta.
There should be no difference in the format of the virtual machines, as VMware states you can use all of the virtual appliances with VMware Fusion.
So, what does this mean for EasyVMX!?
Actually, I saw a couple of interesting lines in the config file created by Fusion:
ethernet0.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE" RemoteDisplay.vnc.port = "0"
These lines are pretty much a give-away of Wake-on-LAN (WoL) and VNC remote control of virtual machines. This will, at some time, have to be reflected in the EasyVMX! virtual machine creator pages.
Anyway, this is quite a neat Christmas present from VMware. Thank you very much!
